Jesus called the church to shine the light all over the globe.   He said, “You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14).

A church throwing a Party on a Hill cannot be hidden either.  Last week, over 500 people from our church and community came to our church campus to hang out for a good time, play some games, enjoy some food, and see a lot of Jesus-followers shining the light.  When we do ministry events like Party on the Hill, then we are building friendships with people who need the love of Christ.  We are doing missions on the front row.  Missions on the front row takes a lot of work, energy, and resources.  At least 70 volunteers assisted with welcoming people to our ministry event, setting up the tent and inflatables, preparing the food, and organizing ministry tables.  We were so blessed to get to shine the light of Jesus on the Hill!
Missions isn’t just happening on the front row in Seminole.  Missions is happening on the back row, too. Sunday we commissioned our Mexico Construction Mission Team.  The team is Russell Vicars, Steve Kean, Tanner Kean, Gerald Wilson, Melvin Noey, Vernon Rattan, Dewight Bird, and Brett Walker.  The team is going to be working on a radio station called Radio Nuevo which will broadcast Christian programming like Focus on the Family and Bible studies to over 100,000 people in the San Miguel county in Guanajuato, Mexico.  The team will be serving September 1-7.  These men will be taking the light of Jesus to the Back Row.  Guanajuato is one of the most unevangelized regions of Mexico, and often called the dark heart of Mexico.  As these men serve Christ, they will be shining the light of Jesus to people living in spiritual darkness, so they are going to need your prayers.  Here are a few Prayer Pointers to help you support them in prayer as they go on mission.

Pray that God would reveal to the people that Jesus alone is supreme and the full expression of God. (Colossians 1:18-19)
Pray that God would relieve the fears and anxieties of team members and their families. (Psalm 27:1)
Pray that God would bless the team with a spirit of unity and cooperation as they serve and work together. (Ephesians 4:3)
Pray for the Holy Spirit to work powerfully in making the hearts of the people receptive to the message of Jesus. (I Thess 1:6)
Pray for the Holy Spirit to work powerfully in transforming the hearts and minds of the team members. (Titus 3:5)
