Description:
Getting Back to God
What do you do when you can’t seem to get back to God?
- We’re not talking about loss of salvation. Some may call
this spiritual drifting.
- It’s loosing the sense of God’s presence in your life.
“He restores my soul…” Psalm 23:3 (NASB)
1. Design in the direction of your life. (A shepherd serves
with a specific purpose).
a. A shepherd has prosperity in bind by having every need
met. (“And my God will supply all your needs according to
his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:19 (NASB)
Not to have more stuff; but to be more productive.
b. There are dangers in the desires of your life. (Have we become
complacent in our relationship with God?)
2. We like sheep are careless and most vulnerable when we are at
our greatest potential. A Cast sheep is one who is overturned on its
back and helpless to right itself. This also happens when it has too
much wool or pregnant. This can happen to us when everything seems
to get us turned around and we’re helpless.
a. The shepherd strips everything that made the sheep important.
- The wool is cut. (In our case we must be stripped of what was
making us important and what kept us from being what God has
called us to be).
b. The shepherd restricts the sheep. (We must allow God to restrict us)
c. The shepherd restores the sheep
