Standing Strong in the Storms of Life Series – Authentic Salvation
1 Peter  1:3-5

A Living Hope, and a Sure Salvation
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,  5who are protected by the power of God through faith for )a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
(1 Peter 1:3-5) (NASB)

Ask yourself; Is my relationship with Jesus Christ Authentic or Synthetic.

- A synthetic relationship…
-- Doesn’t require a relationship
-- Doesn’t require faithfulness
-- Doesn’t require Holy living
-- Doesn’t require sacrificial living

- An authentic relationship…
- Indicates a difference in your life that others can see.

Source of our Salvation – is from god; not from man

-- He has caused us to be born again. God does it because of his Character (Mercy, Verse 3) and His Love desiring a relationship with each of us who call on Him.

Significance of our Salvation – What makes it a necessity and such a big deal?

-- Inner Change - Nnew birth or born again

-- Inspiration – Our rreason for living is based on fact and so much more than dashed hopes

-- Inheritance - The living Jesus within you is Eternal Life. It’s imperishable and can’t fade or be taken away.
