Description:Being the kind of Father that every Child deserves
Luke 15
Luke 15:3-7 – Parable of the Lost Sheep (We’ve all gone astray)
Luke 15:8-10 – Parable of the Lost Coin (On our own we are all lost)
Luke 15:11-31 – Parable of the Lost Son (Jesus Christ compared the
Pharisees to the lost wayward Son)
Verse 12: “give me my share of the estate” – in those times this was saying the same as “I wish you were dead.”
Verse 16: He reached rock bottom and had to take responsibility
Verse 22: The father interrupted this plan of return and chose to rejoice
Verse 29: Older brother refused to rejoice
Notes:
The father treated each Son according to his bent. As an example; he didn’t go after the younger son when he left home but he went after the older son when he failed to come and rejoice upon the return of his brother.
The father is the picture of God. He’s the Priest, Provider and Protector of his Family
